Due to the wide range of chain drive applications, it is of practical significance to clarify its conventional maintenance and repair methods. The better the maintenance and repair, the fewer the chain drive failures. Practice shows that it is quite simple to follow a few rules during use. The principle of maintenance and maintenance can save costs, extend service life, and give full play to the working capacity of the chain drive:
1. Each sprocket of the transmission should maintain good coplanarity, and the chain channel should be kept unblocked;
2. The sag of the loose edge of the chain should be kept proper. For horizontal and inclined transmissions with adjustable center distance, the chain sag should be maintained at about 1% to 2% of the center distance. For vertical transmission or vibration load, reverse transmission and dynamic braking, the chain sag should be more Smaller. Frequent inspection and adjustment of the sag of the loose edge of the chain is an important item in the maintenance of the chain drive.
3. Always maintain good lubrication, which is an important item in maintenance work. No matter which kind of lubrication method is adopted, the most important thing is that the lubricating grease can be distributed in the gap of the chain hinge very timely and evenly. If not necessary, try not to use heavy oil or grease with high viscosity, because they will easily block the passage (clearance) leading to the friction surface of the hinge together with dust after a period of use. The roller chain should be cleaned and decontaminated regularly, and the lubrication effect should be checked frequently. If necessary, the pin and sleeve should be disassembled and checked. If the friction surface is brown or dark brown, it is generally due to insufficient oil supply and poor lubrication.
4. The chain sprocket should be kept in good working condition.
5. Frequently check the working surface of the sprocket teeth. If you find that the wear is too fast, adjust or replace the sprocket in time.
